| After the Faux Group completed a streetscape master plan for the City’s six block West Street Business District, we collaborated with an engineering firm to design the first phase of the street’s improvement plan. The project involved design of a new traffic circle, one block of streetscape, utility improvements and under-grounding, as well as the creation of a small urban park at the district’s western end. The Project goal was to attract development to several of the City’s largest, under-utilized land parcels, upgrade traffic flows through a critical City intersection – from an F grade to an A, and create an attractive gateway to the business district. The project was partially funded and reviewed by the Maryland State Highway Administration and met the State’s roundabout design standards. |
