| Working with Kittelson & Associates and a large steering committee, we evaluated the current and future potential for high quality arterial bus or fixed rail transit service between downtown Annapolis and the growing Parole area in Anne Arundel County. Key tasks included development of a concept for an attractive transit oriented corridor with amenities and features that mark the gateway into the State Capitol City and to help catalyze change in the City’s main area for new growth over the next twenty years. Once a possible route was identified, the teams recommendations included the creation of an Intermodal center with high density mixed-use development around the center at the City/County line, public/private streetscape initiatives, a series of roundabouts and access management measures, and a series of monuments highlighting the street’s role in the nation’s revolutionary and civil war history. |
